Are we going to see acclaimed actor Timothée Chalamet in the DC Extended Universe? If stars align, we just might.
As adaptations of comic books take over Hollywood, it’s no surprise that every notable actor is snagging a superhero role. After all, the success of the genre in the small and big screen continues to transcend expectations. The most recent Hollywood A-listers who have joined in on the fun are Angelina Jolie and Robert Pattinson.
Delving into Pattinson as Batman, speculations about his upcoming film as the caped crusader have emerged. One such theory is that the Battinson universe might re-introduce familiar villains as well as allies. If theories are to be believed, then there’s a chance that his trusty sidekick Robin might be featured in the DCEU.
With that being said, one young actor has expressed his interest in the role. Chalamet recently shared in an interview about the possibility of playing Robin alongside Pattinson’s Batman. Here’s what the star says about the matter as per Cinema Blend:
“I grew up – you can ask my mom, who’s here – people in the elevator would ask me when I was five-years-old, ‘What’s your name?’ and I would say, Robin. Actually every director steered away from putting Robin [in a movie] — well, actually Zack Snyder had a flashback of Robin, but it was like three seconds and I don’t even know if it was Robin by name but they’ve steered away from it because it’s hard to do dramatically or something, and I … I’m not averse to those universes.”
It’s not quite a direct confirmation but it certainly is reaffirming that he might be interested to take on the job.
In the meantime, you can see Chalamet and Pattinson in the same film in the upcoming Netflix movie, The King.
