Matt Reeves’ “The Batman” eyes Jonah Hill for mystery role

Word on the rumor mill is that we might be seeing Jonah Hill in Gotham city. The two-time Oscar nominee is reportedly being eyed to join the cast of Matt Reeves’ upcoming Batman flick starring Robert Pattinson.

According to a report published by Deadline, Hill might be taking on the role of a villain. This is an interesting take for the actor who has yet to grace the big screen as a formidable bad guy. Along with Hill’s casting rumors is news that we might see Westworld star Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon.

The entertainment news outlet also offered another detail about the upcoming film. Reeves will reportedly pen The Batman’s script and produce it in collaboration with Dylan Clark. Reeves and Clark previously worked together in the “Planet of the Apes” franchise.

No word as of yet regarding the baddies that might appear in the upcoming Batman flick. In the previous on-screen treatments of the comic book hero, the Caped Crusader has gone against the Joker, Bane, Poison Ivy, Penguin, Riddler, Ra’s al Ghul, Scarecrow and Catwoman.

Hill has been busy with his own projects for the meantime as news of his casting hasn’t been confirmed on the production’s end. The actor has transitioned to filmmaking with his big-screen directorial debut “Mid90s” which premiered last year. His Oscar nominations are credited to his performances as a supporting actor in The Wolf of Wall Street and Moneyball.

The actor’s breakthrough role is in the 2007 comedy film Superbad where he starred alongside Michael Cera.
